LAFE, AR (KAIT) -

One Region 8 man is asking for drivers to slow down in his neighborhood.

Bo Warren lives on Main Street in Lafe and said people are ignoring the speed limit.

The speed limit on Main Street, off Highway 135, is 20 miles per hour.

There are also several signs saying there are children at play.

Warren said he is concerned someone is going to get seriously hurt one day.

“We just got people speeding up and down through here and there is not call for it,” Warren said. “If it was an emergency I would understand, but as long as there isn’t an emergency they have no business doing it.”

There is a park near Main Street that several children walk to so they can play.

“They need to pay attention if there are kids walking up and down throughout here. They are going to run over them,” Warren said.

Warren has tried to stop or slow down drivers and he has even put out signs warning drivers, but nothing has worked.

He said when sheriff's deputies or state police are out it helps, but he knows they cannot patrol the area all the time.
