JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Whether it’s Thin Mints, Samoas, Savannah Smiles or Thanks-A-Lot that are your favorites, the Girl Scouts have you covered. Girl Scout cookie sales are now underway in Region 8.

“I am excited to be selling and I’m glad it’s time again,” TaNiyah Bailey said. “My favorites are Tagalongs, Trefoils and Samoas."

The variety of cookies have changed over the years.

“We have the two cookies that were introduced last year and they are back this year,” said Nakia Eggerson with the Girl Scouts, Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. “We have our gluten-free Toffee Tastic, as well as our Rah, Rah Raisin.”

Digital cookie sales account for a large percentage of sales.

“We have a cookie locator app that people can use,” Eggerson said. “You can download it from your app store onto your smartphone. You just put in your location and it will pop up where cookie booths are held. They can purchase from a cookie booth and there is also digital cookie sales.”

The annual cookie sales fund Girl Scout projects and serve as learning opportunities.

“It’s beneficial because it will help them set goals, which will help them in life,” Eggerson said. “It teaches them financial literacy. It teaches them how to get out there and talk to people.”

Girl Scout online cookie sales continue through April 24.

Girl Scouts will sell through March 6. Delivery begins March 28.

Girls Scouts plan several booth sales opportunities throughout the area.
