Jonesboro hotel clerks robbed at gunpoint

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police are searching for a man suspected of robbing two hotel clerks at gunpoint.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Officer Keith Baggett was called to Fairfield Inn and Suites, 3408 Access Road, regarding an armed robbery in progress.

Two employees told Baggett they were working the desk when a black man pointed a "chrome semi-automatic handgun" at them and demanded "all of the money."

When one of the victims opened the cash drawer, the man reportedly said, "Give me all of it."

After getting an undisclosed amount of bills and rolled change, the suspect "calmly" walked out the door. The victims said they last saw him walking north along the side of the building.

They described the alleged robber as a tall, light-skinned black man, approximately 6' weighing 150-160 pounds with a thin build. The victims said the man had "hazel-brown eyes and thick, bushy eyebrows."

According to the incident report, the man was wearing a black zippered-jacket with a hood, black sweats, brown gloves and a red bandana covering his mouth and nose.

Police set up a perimeter, but were unable to locate the suspected robber.
