ARMOREL, AR (KAIT) -

A couple of tech savvy students at Armorel High School created a tool to help new students become familiar with the campus.

Asan Balazi and Payton Wimberry have worked all year designing a virtual tour of the campus down to every hallway, locker and desk by using three-dimensional modeling software.

Balazi said he is a new student this year and remembers how it felt having those first-day jitters, so he wanted to think of a way to help students who are also new to AHS.

That is when Balazi and Wimberry met up and developed the virtual tour.

"I've worked with the software before,” Wimberry said. “So, we just basically collaborated together and were able to work together on making this project.”

Their goal is to add safety features to allow the police department to know and locate the safety zones in the school in case a campus lockdown ever happens.

“This is exciting,” Balazi said. “A simple idea is going a long way with helping the school and helping different people out.”
