JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police say a woman found dead alongside a road was the victim of a homicide.

A man walking his dog Friday afternoon discovered Stacey Devine’s body near the intersection of Commerce Drive and Pacific Road.

At the time, police said the 41-year-old victim did not have any identification on her. They said there was “no clear sign of cause of death.”

Devine’s body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for autopsy.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office told Jonesboro police Tuesday that the cause of Devine’s death was strangulation.

The 41-year-old victim’s car was discovered Monday, near Ellis Lane and Prospect Road, about two miles away from where her body had been found.

Anyone with information regarding the case may call the Jonesboro Police Department at (870) 935-5562 or Jonesboro Crime Stoppers at 935-7867 (935-STOP.)
