CARAWAY, AR (KAIT) - The new East Elementary School in the Riverside School District is inching its way to completion.
The 50-year-old building will be demolished after the new one is complete, according to Superintendent Tommy Knight.
"We're finally there," Knight said. "It's been a long time coming. There has been just red tape and a lot of delays. We hoped to have this thing done two years ago. So, I'm glad that we are finally there for the kids and the community."
Knight said the goal is to have the kids complete the current school year in the new building.
He hopes to have them moved in by the end of April.
