While most of Region 8 is under a moderate wildfire danger, the Arkansas Forestry Commission reports two Region 8 counties are under a high danger.

The AFC’s website shows Baxter and Stone County are under a high danger of wildfires.

Most of the other high danger areas come from the northwest part of the state.

The forestry commission shows county judges have also issued burn bans.

Fulton and Cleburne County are the only ones under the ban in Region 8.

Meteorologist Justin Logan says strong winds are behind these wildfire dangers and bans.

He says conditions are expected to improve over the weekend which may lessen these dangers.
