Concealed carry class to help pay for scholarships

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Get a concealed carry permit while helping the children of Arkansas law enforcement officers go to college.

The Craighead County Sheriff's Office will host a concealed carry weapon class on Saturday, April 9.

The class costs $100 with all proceeds going directly to the Arkansas Sheriff's Wives Scholarship Program.

The organization awards college scholarships to certified county law enforcement officers throughout the state. Last year, the program awarded nearly 40 scholarships.

The class will begin at 8 a.m. at the Craighead County Sheriff's Office firing range. Poinsett County Chief Deputy Kevin Moulder will be the instructor.

The class is limited to the first 25 participants.
