Police: Man threatened to shoot woman’s kids

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro woman's neighbor reportedly threatened to shoot her children following an argument about unwanted trash.

According to the police report, the threat happened before 3 p.m. on Friday in the 600-block of Stratford Drive.

Police reported the woman claimed the man was throwing trash from his yard to her yard.

He then threatened to shoot her kids with a shotgun if he saw them playing in the street again.

Police spoke with the man, who claimed the woman yelled and cussed at him for throwing the trash in her yard.

He also said the trash belonged to her children.

During the dispute, he told police the woman threatened to "bust a cap on him."

Police said both of their offenses qualified as first degree terroristic threatening.

The man and woman were both criminally banned from each other's property.
