PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

A traffic stop leads to a Paragould man behind bars.

According to an incident report, Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Ethan McGinnis pulled over a vehicle on South 17th Avenue in Paragould on Sunday after noticing the driver of the vehicle was operating it without headlights or taillights on.

After checking with dispatch, McGinnis found the driver and 32-year-old Joshua Earl Rogers had suspended driver licenses. Rogers was also an active parolee.

Sergeant Tommy Huffstetler arrived at the scene to assist McGinnis in a search of the vehicle.

According to the incident report, deputies found a small plastic bag containing a corner cut baggie as well as two other small plastic bags containing a crystal like substance.

Rogers and the driver were asked who the bags belonged to and Rogers admitted the bags were his.

The substance tested positive as methamphetamine, according to the sheriff's department.

Rogers was then placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and was taken to the Green County Detention Center.
