Sheriff: Trustee cooked 'home brew' in jail kitchen

IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Sheriff's investigators say a trustee cooked up more than just meals in the jail kitchen. They say he made home brew.

Jacob Anthony Frey, 26, of Melbourne was assigned to the jail kitchen as a cook, according to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence.

Frey used oranges, sugar and water to make an intoxicating drink, Lawrence said.

In addition to being charged with furnishing prohibited articles to a facility, Frey is also charged with public intoxication.

His bond from a previous arrest was revoked.

Frey remains in the detention center in lieu of a $10,000 cash-only bond awaiting a March 21 circuit court appearance.
