BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

The Blytheville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery.

On Sunday, officers were called to the Jordan’s Quik Stop convenience store located at 1139 West Main.

Captain Scott Adams, Criminal Investigation Division Commander with the department states a store employee told officers she was waiting on two customers to check out when two men ran into the store wearing masks and showing guns.

The employee said one of the gunmen told her to put money from the register into a bag but the man took the register drawer instead and ran from the store, firing two shots during their exit, according to Adams.

Officers were able to get statements from customers and collect evidence from the store.

Investigators are working to get surveillance video from the scene.

If you have any information regarding this case, you’re asked to contact the Blytheville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 870-763-4411 or 870-762-2677.
