Yates wins the race for Lawrence Co. Sheriff

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jeff Yates reelected in race for Lawrence County Sheriff.

He defeated Richy Thatcher with 1,635 votes to Thatcher's 557 votes.

Yates said the election was a very humbling experience.

"I feel very fortunate that the people felt confidence in me to bring me back and let us do the jail thing and get it fixed and get it built," Yates said. "I just feel very fortunate."
