JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

U.S. Senate candidate Curtis Coleman conceded defeat Tuesday night, congratulating Sen. John Boozman in winning the primary.

In offering his support for the incumbent, Coleman said in a news release, “I do not intend to let a liberal Democrat represent Arkansas in the United States Senate.”

Early voting returns from the Arkansas Secretary of State's office indicate Boozman won with 73 percent of the vote to Coleman's 27 percent.

Boozman will face Connor Eldridge, the Democratic candidate.
