GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Judge Dan Stidham won the District Court Judge seat for Greene County.

Stidham was running for re-election against Lorie Whitby.

Stidham won with 4,754 votes and Whitby received 3,118.

He thanked the people of Greene County for all their support over the last few months.

"My heartfelt appreciation, you embraced myself and my family and my friends and it was wonderful and I loved meeting all of you and I look forward to many more years to come." Stidham said.

Stidham said he will continue to work on getting rid of crime within Greene County.

He also plans to find innovative ways to eradicate crime like expanding his shoplifting sign punishment.

"Shoplifting has gone down 66 percent in one year with the sign program and we plan to expand that to cases like domestic violence," Stidham said. "Lowering crime in Greene County is very important to us and we want people to feel safe."
