BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Blytheville police are searching for suspects after a man was shot during a robbery Thursday afternoon.

According to a new release from Captain Scott Adams with the Blytheville Police Department, officers responded to the 900-block of Dixie Street around 12:10 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found Edwin Cold, 53, with a gunshot wounds.

Cold told police he was robbed, knocked out and shot in the doorway of his apartment.

He explained he had just returned from Hays when two men knocked on his door and asked for someone named Jim.

Cold said they then pushed him into the apartment and robbed him.

He said they got into a small, blue 4-door car and drove south on 10th Street. The car was reportedly driven by a black woman.

The suspects are described as two black men who appear to be in their early 20s with scruffy facial hair, according to Captain Adams.

Cold was taken to the Great River Medical Center for treatment. He was later flown to a Memphis hospital.

Blytheville police are asking anyone with information to contact the police department at 870-763-4411.
