PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - The Greene County Sheriff's Office arrested a man for trespassing on school grounds.
"Obviously they're going to think the worst," Greene County Sheriff David Carter said. "The way he was dressed, his attire. The staff was concerned."
According to Sheriff David Carter, Thomas Walker of Paragould was charged with trespassing and obstruction.
Carter told Region 8 News that Walker was dressed in black and has his head covered with a hoodie near the Greene County Tech main campus Friday afternoon. When the school resource officer approached and asked him to leave, "he refused and also refused to give his name or produce any identification."
"You can't take this lightly," Carter said. "We have to treat everybody the same. The reaction is going to be the same every time. You're going to identify yourself and tell us what you're doing there. If you can't follow the rules of the school, you have to deal with us."
The sheriff's office posted Walker's picture on Facebook.
Sheriff Carter said Walker "was there to watch the kids." However Carter said Walker was on a closed campus and failed to check in with the school.
