Region 8 teen seriously injured in ATV crash

OREGON COUNTY, MO (KAIT) -

A Region 8 teenager was seriously injured Saturday during an ATV crash in Oregon County.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on private property about two miles south of Alton.

There was a driver and four passengers on the Polaris ATV when it happened.

Patrick Barstow, 17, was driving. He lost control of the vehicle, hit a tree and flipped.

Barstow was seriously injured. He was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield to be treated.

Annabelle Brown, 16, sustained minor injuries in the crash. She was treated at Ozarks Medical Center.

The other passengers were Guy Cruse and Alex Richmond-Grenz, both 17, and Victoria Johnson, 16.

They all had minor injuries from the crash but refused treatment at the scene, according to the report.

None of the teens was wearing any safety device.

There was minor damage done to the ATV.
