The Dunklin County Sheriff's Office is taking applications for correction officers to join their team.

Sheriff Bob Holder said there is a turnover in correction officers in many places.

Even though the department is adequately staffed, he is opening doors for people who need a job.

However, he said it comes with requirements.

"We actually would like to have someone who is 21," Holder said. "They also need to have a high school education."

Holder said he will consider people younger, but the applicant must be older than 18.

The position will likely start as part-time then advance to full-time if the employee adapts well to the job.
