CAVE CITY, AR (KAIT) - Two juveniles will face a judge this week after a letter mentioning a possible bomb threat was found at a school.
Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts says the teens, a 17-year-old female and 16-year-old male, confessed on Tuesday to the threatening letter found at the Cave City School District on Monday afternoon.
The pair are charged with communicating a false alarm and threatening a fire or bombing. Both charges are misdemeanors.
On Monday, the school district stated on their Facebook page the "concerning note" was found at the high school. The sheriff and Cave City Police Chief Nathan Stephens were called just before 1 p.m.
According to the school district, Counts advised their administration to escort high school students out of the buildings. Authorities reportedly searched the building and found no threat.
The unnamed teens were taken to the White River Juvenile Detention Center in Batesville.
They will appear before a circuit court judge on Wednesday, according to Counts.
