JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A new bank opened in Lake City on Wednesday.

The bank is temporarily located in the Lake City Museum, 300 Cobean.

After 90 days, Milligan said the bank will move into its own building.

Iberia Bank will close its doors later this month.

The mayor said he is excited about the new bank, saying residents were unsure who they would be able to bank with.

Unico Bank President Jonathan Mays said he was surprised to see the outcome on opening day.

"We've been busy opening accounts ever since we opened the door," Mays said. "I pulled up at 8 this morning and there was a gentleman sitting out in the parking lot. He asked us if we were open and I said, 'We are now.' He came in and we've been steadily stream opening accounts since then."
