JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police and a K9 officer were called to a home after a man discovered what appeared to be a homemade explosive device on the side of the road.
According to an incident report, police responded Monday to 4000-block of Peachtree Road in reference to a suspicious item found.
Officers described the item as having the characteristics of a pipe bomb.
The report stated the item was made of PVC material with both ends capped with a small hole for possible fuse.
After the K9 officer gave a positive alert on the item, officers noticed black or smokeless powder coming out of the hole for the fuse. The report stated the substance was liquefied from water seeping inside.
The device was taken to the police station and stored.
