CARAWAY, AR (KAIT) - A wall fell on a gas main at a Caraway school bus shop.
Superintendent Tommy Knight told Region 8 News a bus driver noticed a scent at around 6:30 Wednesday morning as he was going to get his bus.
Knight said the bus driver then alerted others that were on campus and the campus was evacuated until the line could get shut off.
"It was a line that was out at a deserted bus shop that was mostly blown down in a storm several years ago," Knight said. "We didn't even realize that line was still charged out there. We had somebody from the city and the gas company come in and turn off the line. We will be removing that line from out there."
Knight said the gas line was shut off by 7:15 but students were held in the school gym as a precaution until the building was cleared and all students could be transported back to campus.
No injuries were reported.
