Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum to host literary cocktail party

PIGGOTT, AR (KAIT) -

The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) in Piggott will host a literary cocktail party on Saturday, April 2.

From 6 until 8 p.m. guests will be treated to food and fun in the Pfeifer-Janes House, 1021 West Cherry.

The party coincides with the museum’s American Short Fiction Reading Retreat, which begins on Friday, April 1, and will focus on short stories by American authors.

Retreat participants will discuss collections of stories by William Faulkner, Flannery O’Connor, and Ernest Hemingway.

In addition to the discussions and party, retreat participants will also be treated to a movie screening on Friday, April 1.

The cost of the retreat is $100, which includes a ticket to the party and copies of the books to be discussed.

Tickets to the party are $35, with proceeds benefiting the museum’s educational programming.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served. While not required, guests are invited to dress as their favorite figure from American literature. A prize will be given for best costume.
