JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A small Region 8 church has been the victim of four break-ins in four months.

The New Friendship Baptist Church along Greene County Road 514 had the first break-in back in December.

Pastor John Slatton told Region 8 News the suspects did not take anything big, but several things were scattered around the church during the break-ins.

Suspects during the first break-in went through the basement door, but they went through the windows the next three times.

Slatton said he just wants the break-ins to stop.

“It's not just me or the church but it is God's property it’s his and has to do with what he wants and not what they want to destroy,” Slatton said.

The sheriff’s department is actively searching for the suspects and have increased patrols in the area.

“If you are breaking into a church you know we are not the only ones that are watching you,” Sheriff David Carter said.

Carter is asking anyone with information from any of the four break-ins to please contact the department at 870-236-7612.
