JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro Animal Control is looking to expand their outside area to give the animals more room to play.

The department is looking into sectioning off their current outside pen and adding more fencing in the back.

"What we are going to do is get enough fencing to section it off and then we want some more fencing to go out where our puppies are and stuff like that so we can give them more time outside," Officer Mike Owens said.

Currently animal control officers can only let about three dogs outside to play at a time.

Owens said that does not allow every dog to play outside each day, so this expansion could help.

The extra fencing will cost money, so the department is also looking for fundraising ideas.

If anyone has an idea or suggestion, they can call animal control at 870-925-3920.

The department will be taking pet Easter pictures on March 19 to raise funds for the project.
