POINSETT COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - After two days of rain across Region 8 some areas are experiencing flooding.

Poinsett County is one the places that has seen quite a bit of rain this week.

County Judge Bob Cantrell said several roads had water over them Thursday.

He said the main problems are overflowed ditches and water-covered fields.

No roads in the county had been closed yet Thursday afternoon.

One Payneway resident told Region 8 News he did not expect this much rain.

Robert Buckner just moved to the area and most of his yard was flooded by Thursday, even after he prepped for the rain.

"I pretty much see where I need it at, but even the fields flow over into the yards and the ditches are moving but they aren't moving fast enough," Buckner said.

Buckner said he is not worried about his house being affected, but he will have to clean up the yard after the water recedes.

Several other residents said the full ditches are causing problems for them too.

Most people said they are just ready for the rain to stop before the flooding gets worse.
