JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro woman was cited after her car crashed into a house Monday afternoon.

The accident happened at the intersection of Belt and State Street around 1 p.m.

According to a crash report from Jonesboro police, Tahkara Harris, 20, was driving a silver Ford Mustang west on Belt along with an UPS van in front of her.

Police state Harris attempted to pass the van, which was attempting to turn south onto State, when the collision happened.

Harris, according to the investigating officer, "improperly passed on double yellow" and in the intersection which caused the accident.

After the collision, the car slid 95 feet through a yard and hit a house in the 500-block of State.

The investigating officer stated in the crash report the distance the car traveled after the collision indicated Harris was driving "very fast" at the time of the crash.

Harris was taken to a Jonesboro hospital by ambulance. The driver of the van was not injured.

She was cited with improper passing and no proof of insurance.
