Greene County Sheriff's Department collects for veterans

GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Greene County Sheriff’s Department held a food drive for local veterans.

The drive was held Saturday at Hays and the donations went to the Veterans of Foreign Wars USA.

Greene County Sheriff David Carter said the event was a huge success.

He said the department collected two trucks full of food.

Carter thanked the public for their generous donations to make the event such a success.

“We are so grateful to everyone who participated in that it was a big help and we enjoy doing that and helping our veterans,” Carter said. “We have a community that just gives and gives.”

Carter also thanked his deputies for helping put on the event.
