GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Greene County Sheriff’s Department recovered several stolen guns last week.

Sheriff David Carter told Region 8 News the department was able to find the guns and make an arrest Friday night with the help of the Clay County Sheriff’s Department.

Carter said his deputies identified the suspect with a game camera located at the home.

The suspect was already in the Clay County jail when deputies made the identification.

The Clay County sheriff allowed Greene County deputies to interview the suspect who confessed to stealing the guns.

Carter said his department appreciated the assistance from Clay County.

“That is just a cooperation between the two counties, you know we talk and stuff and this was able to come together great,” Carter said.

Deputies recovered eight guns from a van parked outside a farmhouse between Rector and McDougal.

Carter said they are still looking for a couple more missing guns, but the homeowner is grateful for the guns recovered so far.
