Lawrence County elected officials' pay was a hot topic at the last Quorum Court meeting.

Judge Dale Freeman presented the issue to discuss Monday night but agreed to let the Justice of the Peace members make the final decision.

The JP's agreed to give elected officials their salary pay, plus longevity which is annual compensation for employees based on seniority.

This pay is also in addition to the $500 bonuses the court previously voted to give all employees.

The JP's also agreed to create a committee to discuss the elected official pay for future years.
