JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A body was found in Jackson County Tuesday afternoon that officials believe is that of a missing man.

According to Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas, a body was recovered from a body of water on Jackson County Road 16.

The body was found under some brush around 12:30 p.m.

Sheriff Lucas said they believe it is the body of missing man Jeremy Wayne Conway, but they cannot confirm that yet.

The body will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Conway has been missing since early February. He disappeared after leading deputies on a high-speed chase before driving his truck into a body of water.

During the chase down County Road 16, Conway left the roadway and his truck plunged into water.

Morales said deputies managed to “get to the truck” but there was no sign of Conway.

The sheriff’s office took Conway off their missing person’s list and placed him on their wanted list after video surfaced of him in the Newport area.

Lt. Ricky Morales said Conway’s wife confirmed the video was of her husband.

Conway’s family had reportedly not heard from him since before the chase.
