Broccoli Salad

1 Head broccoli, divided into flowerets
1 Small onion, chopped
1 Small can water chestnuts, sliced
1/2 C Raisins
5 Slices crisp-fried bacon, crumbled
1 C Low-fat mayonnaise
1/4 C Vinegar
3 T Sugar
1/2 to 1 C Nuts (optional)

Combine first 5 ingredients (and nuts) into a bowl; mix well. Stir in mixture of mayonnaise, vinegar, and sugar. Chill for six hours or longer.
