Secret Ingredient Chocolate Cake

1 C corn oil
2 C sugar
3 eggs
1/3 C water
2/3 C orange juice
3 C self-rising flour
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
3/4 cup chocolate syrup
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1. Cream oil and sugar together.
2. Add eggs one at a time, and beat until fluffy.
3. Add flour, alternately with water and orange juice.
4. Blend in vanilla extract.
5. Pour two-thirds of batter into a well greased 10-inch bundt pan.
6. Add chocolate syrup and baking soda to remaining one- third of batter. Blend well.
7. Pour this mixture over the batter in the pan.
8. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake 25 minutes longer or until cake tests done.
9. Cool thoroughly on rack. Invert onto cake plate, and top with orange glaze.

 Orange Glaze

1 1/4 C powdered sugar
1 T butter, softened
1/4 C orange juice
1/4 tsp. pure vanilla extract

1. Mix all ingredients until smooth. Add more juice if thinner consistency is desired.
2. Spread or slowly pour over cake.
