A true American hero will be the featured guest speaker at the annual Live United with the Stars event benefiting the United Way of Northeast Arkansas. The event is Thursday, May 5th at 7 p.m. at the Cooper Alumni Center at Arkansas State University, featuring Kevin Lacz, former U.S. Navy SEAL co-starring as himself in the Oscar-winning film, American Sniper. A special VIP event will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the Club Level at the Centennial Bank Stadium Press Box.
Lacz served in Iraq with fellow Navy SEAL and American Sniper, Chris Kyle, who was the real-life inspiration for the film.
At the May 5th event, Lacz will share his journey from borderline dropout to commended U.S. Navy Seal by learning to take, mitigate and overcome risks. Lacz will take the audience behind the scenes of the movie, and tell stories about working alongside Bradley Cooper, teaching him how to move, shoot and act like a SEAL.
Reservations are available through United Way of Northeast Arkansas by calling 870-935-3658 or by visiting the local office at 407 Union Street, Jonesboro, AR 72401. VIP tickets include an hour long reception with Lacz, with photo opportunities as well.
This event will benefit the 21 programs the United Way is currently funding, which serves eight counties including Clay, Craighead, Cross, Greene, Jackson, Lawrence, Poinsett and Randolph
