CROSS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Cross County sheriff's deputies arrested a Harrisburg man after alleged threats he made led to the lockdown of an elementary school.
Scott Hendrix, 39, is charged with terroristic threatening.
According to a news release from Sheriff J.R. Smith, Hendrix threatened to do bodily harm to a Cross County Elementary School teacher.
After learning of the threats at 9 a.m. Friday, school officials placed the school on lockdown and notified the sheriff's office.
Deputies from Cross and Poinsett Counties, along with officers from other agencies, immediately began searching for Hendrix.
Poinsett County deputies arrested him and held him until he could be taken back to Cross County to face charges.
"At no time was the Cross County Elementary School in danger," Smith said. "The school used proper protocol in shutting the school down."
