Motorcycle chase ends when suspect collides with trooper

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A high-speed chase ended with a motorcyclist crashing into an Arkansas State trooper's patrol car.

According to a Jonesboro police report, two suspects lead police on a high speed chase on Interstate 555 shortly before 10:00 Friday morning.

As one of the suspects approached the on-ramp at Washington Avenue, one of the suspects lost control and fish tailed on the shoulder of the road.

Officer Nick Dean wrote, "I observed the motorcycle and State Police car collide causing the motorcycle to wreck."

After the collision, the suspect, later identified as Alvin Jackson, was taken into custody.

After the crash, officers were able to find the second motorcycle driver, identified as Jeremy Stone, on Strawfloor near Sloan Lake.

"The driver advised me that he was armed with a handgun so I advised him to keep his hands up and he complied," Officer Scott Byrd wrote in his narrative.

Arkansas State Police is investigating the case with assistance from Jonesboro police.
