CORNING, AR (KAIT) - The Corning City Council agreed to give the community pool a facelift for the upcoming summer.

According to Mayor Rob Young, the city is working on fixing a few cracks in the pool foundation and loose tiles.

Young said they want to keep the pool in good condition for those who use it.

Brenda Eason said she used to go to the pool every summer when she was little.

She said the pool is one of the only things for kids to do in town besides go to the community center.

She said upgrades would be great so the kids could continue to have a nice pool to visit.

"The kids still love going, especially the little ones. A lot of birthday parties are done over there, my own grandchildren had their birthdays there," Eason said.

Young said he had crews out Thursday looking at the pool to see what upgrades are needed.
