PORTIA, AR (KAIT) - Several people in Lawrence County woke up to broken car windows.

According to several residents in Portia, someone came through the town Tuesday night and broke windows of cars parked along the street.

Scott Campbell said his wife's car was one of six cars hit in Portia.

He told Region 8 News the incident happened sometime after five when they returned home for the night.

Campbell said the vandalism is very upsetting.

"It is very frustrating because this little small town, we don't have stuff like this. Personally, I think it was kids who may have done it with a BB gun," Campbell said.

Campbell's wife took her car to be fixed Wednesday morning and the shop told her several other cars were in for the same reason.

"People work for their vehicles and their property and then to vandalize them, it hurts," Campbell said. "Not only does it hurt personally, like you have been violated, but it costs you money too."

Residents in Portia said other cars in the county were hit, including ones in Sedgwick, Hoxie and Walnut Ridge.
