1 killed, 1 injured after driveway crash

HOWELL COUNTY, MO (KAIT) -

One person was killed Sunday afternoon while another was injured in a one-vehicle crash in Missouri.

The crash happened in Howell County about four miles south of West Plains at 2:15 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Robert Lydon, 78, of Edgewood, NM, was driving a 2015 Ford Edge north on U.S. 63 when the SUV traveled off the right side of the road.

MSHP states the SUV struck a driveway approach and "overturned several times."

Passenger, Mary Lydon, 78, of Edgewood, NM, died at a West Plains hospital following the crash.

Robert Lydon was taken to the same hospital with moderate injuries.

Both people were wearing seat belts.

MSHP reports the crash was the 10th fatality for Troop G in 2016.
