OSCEOLA, AR (KAIT) - Osceola police arrested a man they say intentionally set a house on fire.

According to a Mississippi County Sheriff's Office press release, the incident took place Friday, March 18 in the 100-block of West Circle Drive.

A neighbor told police that a man knocked on her door asking for boots.

When she said she did not have any, he then jumped her fence and drove off in a brown Chevy.

After the fire was put out, firemen found a barbecue grill flipped upside down on the couch in the living room.

According to the Osceola Fire Department, they also found evidence belonging to Steven Proffitt, 33, of Cabot.

Police later arrested Proffitt and charged him with arson.

Proffitt is being held in the Mississippi County Sheriff's Jail on a $75,000 bond.
