JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

More south Jonesboro residents filed reports with local law enforcement agencies regarding vandalism on their properties.

Friday, two homeowners filed reports with the Jonesboro Police Department.

As of Monday, Jonesboro police responded to another report. The Craighead County Sheriff's Department also received a call regarding vandalism.

Jonesboro police have yet to say whether the incidents are linked but they say they are similar.

In the reports, victims state their yards were toilet papered and their property was spray painted with obscenities.

The reports of vandalism were centralized to the Valley View area. Homeowners on Oak Leaf Circle, East Craighead Forest Road, Deerfield Drive and County Road 4091 filed reports with the Jonesboro Police Department or Craighead County Sheriff's Department.

Jennifer York said since she has a son in high school, she didn't think much when she walked outside and saw her yard toilet papered.

"I was kind of okay with that until I walked around the corner and saw the graffiti on my driveway and the vulgar graffiti on my garage door," York said.

An obscene image and vulgar phrase were spray painted on her garage door.

York, who also has a young daughter, immediately covered the obscenities with trash bags.

"What was on the garage, she did not need to see," York said.

York said if kids are involved, they need to realize that spray painting someone else's property is not a joke.

"It's one thing to be a child and maybe go through that experience of let's toilet paper and be crazy," York said. "When they start doing damage to your property, that's a whole new ballgame. It's not right."

York said thankfully, she was able to find a product to remove the paint. However, she said she will still have to repaint her garage door to completely remove the obscenities.

If you have information regarding the acts of vandalism, contact Jonesboro police at (870) 935-5553.
