BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

A traffic stop in Independence County recently left deputies wondering what’s in the box.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 19 at the intersection of Allen Chapel Road and Haynie Drive in Batesville.

According to the initial incident report, the deputy noticed 25-year-old Derek Roberts was shaking uncontrollably and was not able to give the officer his physical address.

The deputy then conducted a K9 search of Roberts's vehicle.

According to the report, the deputy found multiple bags with locked black boxes containing what they believed to be methamphetamine, a glass smoking pipe and needles.

Deputies arrested Roberts and charged him with felony possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

He is in the Independence County Detention Center awaiting a court hearing.
