The Cross County Public Library is searching for the person who is vandalizing their outside furniture.

The furniture includes old, wooded pieces donated by patrons to the library in someone's memory.

Deputy Director of the library Claire Miller said someone is unscrewing bolts in the chairs and moving them across the patio.

She said it is happening in the early hours of the morning.

Miller said it appears the person is doing this to use an outlet on the outside wall and to access the free Wi-Fi.

It is destroying the furniture because it has been a reoccurring issue.

“It just makes us sad that somebody would, after we've bolted them down again, rip them back up and do it over and over again,” Miller said.

The library is working closely with law enforcement to put an end to the vandalism.

Miller said she wants the furniture to last as long as possible.

Anyone with information should contact Wynne Police Department at (870) 238-8718.
