JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Walmart is fighting to stop hunger in Region 8 through their "Fight Against Hunger" campaign.

Five suppliers will donate to the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas for every one of their products that a customer purchases.

Those manufacturers are Kellogg's, Kraft, General Mills, Pepsi and Campbell's Soup.

Walmart has also jumped on board.

They will match donations made by customers at the register or also add 10 meals for every donation made online.

Every donation made in Region 8 will stay in Region 8.

"It's just really exciting to see that our money that we raise actually stays in this area and helps so many people," Assistant Manager James Safirt said.

Last year the food bank handed out 4.8 million meals to families.

They needed an additional 7.2 million to fill the meal gap.

"Fight Against Hunger" will go through April 25.
