Emergency shelter open for flooding victims

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

An emergency shelter is open for residents effected by flooding in Jonesboro, according to E911 Coordinator Jeff Presley.

The Allen Park Community Center on Race Street is open to residents who need to use the facilities.

Also if you see a road covered in water, do not attempt to cross it. At least one road in Jonesboro has washed out due to the flooding.

Lawson Road, near the Valley View School District, is closed between Mt. Carmel Road and Lamb Lane. If you have to drive in the area for school traffic Thursday morning, please seek an alternate route.

    According to Randolph County Sheriff Gary Tribble, a person was being held Sunday in the Randolph County jail after being taken into custody by Arkansas State Police in connection with the deaths of two people.
