Man arrested after stealing hydrocodone

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A maintenance worker at Garden Manor Apartments in Jonesboro was arrested for stealing pain pills from a resident.

According to a Jonesboro Police Department incident report, Bradley Rouse entered an apartment without permission on Wednesday to change window blinds.

Once inside the apartment, Rouse reportedly began messing with the resident's walker, which held her medication.

The resident also stated that Rouse began to complain about his back hurting.

When Rouse left, the resident noticed a bottle of Hydrocodone missing from her walker.

When officers contacted Rouse, he told them that he was just in the apartment to change blinds.

He said he was messing with the walker because the woman told him the wheel was loose.

When asked about taking the medication, Rouse denied at first, but then admitted to taking it.

He also admitted to throwing the pill bottle a dumpster, according to the report.

Rouse said he has chronic pain and said he took the pills for personal use.

He was arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.

He was charged with residential burglary, theft and possession of a controlled substance and is being held pending a probable cause hearing.
