CLAY COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A deputy arrested two people Sunday after an early morning chase in Clay County.

According to a Facebook page for the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy tried to stop a suspicious vehicle on a road near farm shops east of Rector at around 12:50 a.m.

However, the vehicle did not stop and drove away at around 80 mph.

The sheriff’s department said the deputy chased Shaun Laxton, 24, of Rector and Missouri resident Amanda Epley, 19, to a home.

Once there, the deputy took them to the Clay County Detention Center.

Laxton was charged with DWI and fleeing.

Charges for Epley were not listed in the sheriff's department Facebook post.
