Kennett police respond to three K2 overdoses

KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - Kennett police responded to three people with medical problems after smoking K2, a synthetic form of marijuana, Friday.

According to a post on their Facebook page, officers responded to the 700-block of Kennett Street around 9 a.m. in reference to a man assaulting a woman.

When officers arrived on scene, they learned that there was not an assault.

Instead, the woman had apparently had a seizure after smoking K2.

Mary Flowers, 19, of Kennett was then arrested for possession of the drug.

She was later released on a Kennett Municipal Court summons pending her court date.

Officers responded to another home in the 400-block of Kennett Street around 11:45 a.m. in reference to a person who had overdosed on K2 and was combative.

Officers assisting emergency responders in controlling the patient, who was eventually taken to the hospital.

Police also talked to another person who admitted to ingesting K2. That person began to show signs of overdose and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officers then found an undisclosed amount of K2 and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Several charges are expected to be charged in that case, according to the Facebook post.
