JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Five Jonesboro residents may soon be appointed to the Jonesboro Property Maintenance Code Board of Appeals.

The Jonesboro City Council Nominating and Rules Committee meets Tuesday in a special called meeting to consider a resolution to establish the board of appeals.

Previously, Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin stated that after the council votes on the board appointment, the code will go into effect.

The resolution states that the members of board will not be city employees and must be qualified by experience and training pertaining to property maintenance.

Committee members will consider placing Scott Long, John Drum, and Joe Carter on the board. They will also consider naming Jay Little and Thomas Moss as alternate members of the board.
